This past January, my husband and I bought our first house. We didn’t move in until the end of March and spent that time painting and fixing some things up. We still have a lot we want to do and maybe someday we will get to it! The only room in our house that is “complete” is the nursery. For a while there, it was the only room in our house that had real furniture! I love Evelyn’s nursery. It is so cozy and turned out just as I wanted. Here is a little look around my favorite room in our house.
The cherry blossom decal on the wall above the crib was our starting point and inspiration for the colors and “theme” of the room. It was really inexpensive and it has held up great. Really easy to apply and remove as well. You can find it on Amazon.
Our crib was purchased at Babies ‘R Us and I love it! It is so sturdy. I found the mesh crib liner at a Mom to Mom sale for $3 and I was so excited about how perfectly it matched!
I looked around for a chair forever. I ended up getting this one from Babies ‘R Us. It is comfortable and the back is tall enough to lay my head back. It’s very smooth and quiet and will match our family room furniture when it is time to move it out!
This idea is all over Pinterest. It is really cute but not very practical! You have to be very careful when removing a book or else they will all end up on the floor. They will be removed as soon as baby bear is mobile!
We also bought this changing table on Amazon. It is so useful to have those shelves for all the extra storage. To the right you can see our Munchkin Arm and Hammer Diaper Pail. My husband loves this thing and always talks about how he would not want to live without it! It is really convenient and we average about a $1 a week on refills. I will gladly pay $1 a week to not have to worry about always taking the stinky diapers outside to the trash!
We purchased this cube shelf at my favorite store, Ikea. I love how they have drawers available now to install into the shelf. They have doors available as well. This hides a TON of random items such as bibs and hats and toys.
The room is rather small, so thankfully this dresser we had fit right into the closet to save space!
This is the carpet we have in the room. I also got this on Amazon! It matches the flower/nature theme well. It is a much brighter green in person. They have a couple other colors available and it is really cheap but pretty good quality! How convenient is it to get a rug delivered right to your door? Especially when it wouldn’t fit in your tiny little car! If you couldn’t tell, I absolutely love Amazon. You can read more about my obsession here.
Maybe I should show you other rooms in my house so that it forces me to tidy up those as well 🙂
