My favorite thing in life, besides my family of course, is an adventure. I love to travel. Near or far or to the same place over and over. I can’t think of a place I wouldn’t like to go explore. I am a sucker for tourist attractions too. The largest wooden rocking chair? The biggest ball of yarn? Yeah – I’d be up for that! We are go with the flow travelers and never have a strict plan. If we see something interesting we stop. Not having a plan is what makes the adventure more exciting because you never know where you’ll end up or what you’ll find! We’ve found some of the best restaurants, hiking trails, secluded beaches, and yes the occasional “world’s biggest clam” this way. When I go too long without a little adventure, I start to get antsy.
Now that we are a little more adjusted to life with a baby and baby bear has developed into a pretty easy going almost 9 month old we are heading our way back into the travel groove. She has already been quite the trooper on smaller trips with us and as long as there is food she is a happy camper.
Next month we are taking off on our first big trip to Vancouver, Canada! My mom is from Vancouver and it is where I was born. We used to go pretty often, but haven’t been back since my grandma passed away 9 years ago. I am excited for my family to meet Evelyn and minus a few lucky ones, everyone will be meeting my husband for the first time too. We are planning a jam packed few days with lots of sight seeing and family time.
However, I would be lying if I said I didn’t have any anxiety about traveling for 12 hours through airports with a 10 month old. My mom is traveling with us though, so it will be a big help to have her there!
To make the trip as smooth as possible we have been making some preparations. This week we invested in a new travel stroller that is more compact and lighter than our normal stroller. And I have got to say – I love this thing! Even though E looks more like a toddler than a baby when she sits in it ?
We purchased the Summer 3D Lite Convenience Stroller from Amazon and it was really affordable for a pretty decent stroller that has a lot of features! It folds up and down easy, is comfortable for E and even reclines to multiple positions without having to take her out, is safe with a 5 point harness, and even has a nice big storage basket underneath, a little pocket on the back near the handles and a cup holder that is removable (can also be attached lower for child to use)! And bonus – it really is lightweight. About 12 pounds.
I made a video of the un-boxing and my initial review that you can check out! We are loving this stroller and can’t wait to take it on our adventures!
