I don’t know what has gotten into me lately, but I have had some serious lack of motivation! It’s been so long since I’ve written anything that when I went to look for my laptop, I couldn’t even find it! Turned out it was still in my laptop bag from when I drug myself to Starbucks at the beginning of last week to get some work done! Oy.
I feel like I just need to get something out there to get the ball rolling so here are five things from my week in the form of a Friday Brain Dump for you all. Hoping this will help clear my mind so I can move on to all of these great things I have planned and all the opportunities that are brewing!
ONE: Mondays that don’t feel like Mondays are the best. We went to Michigan’s Adventure over Labor Day weekend with my parent’s, brother, sister-in-law, and niece. It was a beautiful day. Except E kept falling down and making me feel like a bad mom. Knocked her head and kissed the pavement a few times. She left with a couple band-aids and some bumps but of course she was smiling. That girl. She’s fearless and I’m going to pay for it one day.
TWO: Finger painting is messy. We had some fun and E got an extra bath! Next time, I’m going to just try bath paints. Two birds with one stone, right? I was struck with some sort of “beginning of the week ambition”, what can I say.
THREE: Books, books, books. E is obsessed with books. Particularly books that include 3 topics: ducks, cats, and Elmo. I’m thrilled she likes books, but all day long there is a book being shoved in my face! I can only read the same darn Elmo book so many times! So what do I do?! Buy more books, of course! We went to Ollie’s, a bargain store, and got some really great cheap books. “Elmo’s Ducky Day” became a quick favorite and two days later, you better believe I’ve already stuffed that one under the couch. Elmo and his duckies need a break. And so does Mommy.
FOUR: Meeting Daddy for lunch is always a nice treat. My husband conveniently works right near a large outlet mall so every once in awhile we drive down and meet him for lunch in the food court. And bonus – we get to stay and shop. This time, we had a few extra minutes so they rode the carousel. Gosh, they’re so cute.
FIVE: Weeds that turn out to be flowers? I so do not have a green thumb and I absolutely hate yard work! When we’re rich, I’m hiring someone! But anyways, because we avoid weeding like its the plague, I noticed this “weed” in our “garden” that was starting to grow rather tall this week. I also noticed there were some flower buds on it so I decided to leave it alone because I wanted to see what it would do. Totally not just because I was lazy, right? Well, look what bloomed! I’m not really sure what it is, but either way, it’s the prettiest thing in our yard, so yay for being lazy!
Hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!
