This year I am so excited for the holidays! My daughter will be 18 months old this year and she is already so excited about the tree in our living room and all of the Christmas lights. And don’t even start singing “Jingle Bells” because you will have to sing it at least 10 times before she lets you stop!
Speaking of singing, have you heard of the new movie, Sing©, coming out later this December? E gets her groove on just to the trailer so I have a feeling she is going to like it! The Sing Movie Sweepstakes are going on right now, so if you’d like a chance at $100,000, enter now! If you win, though, I expect a nice Christmas gift 😉 kidding…kind of!
We have been busy preparing for Christmas this week. Daddy has been out in the garage each night working on our advent calendar! Now that E is a bit older this year and can actually participate in family traditions, we have been making plans! Although my favorite family traditions are the completely random ones that just happen and tend to stick around because well, it’s tradition!
These are some of the family traditions that I can’t wait to share with my loves!
- Make Homemade Ornaments – The more little hand and foot prints the better!
- Decorate Cookies for Santa
- Drive around the neighborhood to look at lights. Our subdivision has a competition!
- Open Christmas Eve boxes that have new jammies, a Christmas movie, and some snacks!
- Make yummy treats to share with the neighbors – Like these Milk and Cereal Treats with Golden Crisp® Cereal.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbs. Butter
- 1 10 oz. bag marshmallows
- 6 cups Golden Crisp®
- 3 Tbs. dry milk powder
- 2 Tbs. Water
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Line 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in Golden Crisp®
- Transfer to pan.
- Mix dry milk powder, water, and powdered sugar for milk glaze.
- Drizzle over cereal.
- Let cool completely so glaze can set. Enjoy!
We picked up some Golden Crisp® at our local Kroger. Before you go, grab a coupon at Coupons.com! E had a fun time helping me pick out the cereal and an even better time taste testing it! I think she discovered why his name is Sugar Bear 😉
Sing© comes out on December 21, just in time for a fun holiday family outing! I would love to add a trip to the movies as part of our holiday tradition. My husband absolutely loves going to the movies, so I’m sure I won’t have any protests there! These Milk and Cereal Bars would be the perfect treat to bring along when you go see Sing© 😉
I am looking forward to all the family time this holiday and starting so many special traditions with my family. The Christmas season is so much more magical when you get to experience it through a child’s eyes. What are some of your family’s holiday traditions?
When you enter the Sing Movie Sweepstakes, not only do you have a shot at the $100,000 grand prize, but you also have the chance to instantly win lots of prizes including movie tickets, speakers and more! Will your family see Sing© this holiday season?
