We had a streak of unbelievable weather for February and we definitely took advantage! We went out on walks and made visits to the park every chance we got. It felt so nice to feel the sun and not freeze to death every time you stepped outside!
It was a nice break, but I knew it wouldn’t last. It was a refreshing taste of spring and a little reprieve, but we live in Michigan. Winter is certainly not over. However, it has made me hopeful spring is near and reminded me good weather will be along eventually.
We’re be back to chilly temperatures along with spending more time inside. I always struggle with finding things to do inside to keep E active. My go to activity to burn some of that never ending energy is a dance party! Sometimes we just turn on the Justin Timberlake Pandora station and other times we put on some toddler friendly songs that encourage movement. Either way, its fun and I love watching E shake her little booty!
Encouraging physical activities multiple times a day is so important for young children. It is the start of healthy habits and when kids are active, they sleep so much better! Practicing movements such as clapping or stomping is also helpful for gross motor skills.
